Introduction

For my A/S Media Studies courework I have decided to do a music magazine. I have been looking at magazines such as Rolling Stone, Q, NME and MOJO for inspiration. I enjoy British rock and Indie music mostly, I have decided I am going to use that genre. The design, however, I believe that Rolling Stone has the best layout so that is the design I will look at for influence. The masthead for NME stands out and is now a marker for the magazine, something we easily recognise and intensity the magazine with. I hope to have this kind of stand out masthead, something that will be easily identifiable to ensure buyers remember my magazine. I like the colour palette of both "NME" and "Rolling Stone" as I find that red and white are colours that work well together. However, I also like the use of black and white  that "Rolling Stone" uses too. I want to keep my magazine cover clear and simple looking so I will experiment with different fonts and sizes until I am happy with the appearance of it. Overall, I hope to achieve this vintage look about the magazine.
